Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer: A study in contrast

Charlie Ballmer, Microsoft's outgoing leader, was a close buddy of company founder Invoice Gates, but in quite a few ways his opposite.

Ballmer, recognized for his competitive characteristics and outspoken, bombastic type, contrasted with the once nerdy Gates.

The two were friends at Harvard University, but Ballmer was able to graduate, while Gates became on the list of venerable school's most renowned drop-outs.

Ballmer, the ideal man at Gates's marriage ceremony in 1994, joined 'microsoft' in 1980 as surgical procedures manager, after a stint along with consumer products group Procter & Wager.

A native of The state of michigan, Ballmer grew up within the Detroit area, where his or her father was a Honda executive.

Ballmer, now 57, received his Harvard degree throughout applied math and economics, in addition to later attended the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
